Outfits that are comfortable are the best. Personally, when I pick out my outfits every day, I mostly think of how comfortable I want to be and pick out the pieces out of my closet based on comfort level. I even shop that way! Before buying a new piece to add to my wardrobe, I try it on and/or look at the material to make sure that it is going to be comfortable to wear.
As a teacher, my number one priority when dressing is making sure that I am wearing something that I am going to be comfortable in all day. When shopping at some of my normal stores, I have to shop very carefully to make sure that I am picking out something that is not only comfortable but appropriate and sets me apart from my students. (I can’t tell you how many times a week I get confused for a student by other teachers).
Being comfortable and looking like “the adult” in the classroom is not always easy when it comes to Dress Down Friday. On those days, I am super excited to be able to wear my jeans and a nice comfortable top.
For this outfit, I didn’t even worry about whether I looked like one of my students are not. It is just bound to happen. I focused solely on being comfortable with this Dress Down Friday look. I mean, let’s be honest, we all wake up and just want to be comfortable all day long – especially in the colder months: warm + comfortable = best outfit ever.
