Here’s the rundown: At least once a month, I’ll be featuring some of my favorite and most inspirational bloggers. These will be bloggers that I admire and who’s style I adore.
For my first Feature Friday, I partnered with a very down to earth blogger from Nashville, TN – Paula Clark from Living Paula!
Of course, she caught my eye because of her impecable taste in fashion, but then I realized – we having matching blog names! She’s Living Paula and I’m Living Lesh. It’s like a match made in heaven.
I’m so excited to have her featured on here for the first Feature Friday. Check out my interview with her & make sure to head over to Living Paula to see her interview/feature with me!
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
I’m a Floridian living in Nashville, TN. I work in automotive finance by day and fashion blog by night. I love to spend time with my family and friends. For fun I like to read blogs, go to the gym and travel.
What made you want to start your blog?
I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur. I loved reading blogs and had been studying up on online businesses in my spare time. I wanted to create something where I could have some fun and work towards a goal that was within my complete control. I also really wanted to create a way to showcase all the amazing things/fashion going on in Nashville, TN. I interned in digital marketing in college so I wanted to give it a solid try and now I love it!!
What is your favorite part of the work involved with the blog?
My favorite part is meeting brands and going to the blog networking events here in Nashville. I love to meet new people and I really enjoy learning more about each brand that I work with and the people that represent them. I love picking out items to style and seeing what I can come up with! I also have really enjoyed meeting the bloggers in Nashville. There is something magical about getting a bunch of motivated, like-minded women together in one room!
How do you describe your style?
My style is laid back. I like to pick up a few trends here and there but I always gravitate back towards quality and classic pieces. I would say I like a lot of dresses and a lot of jewelry!
What is your favorite item in your closet right now?
My favorite item in my closet right now would be my latest Kendra Scott purchase. I LOVE Kendra Scott jewelry. Any of it and all of it! Ha-ha!
What is your favorite beauty product?
My favorite beauty product is my Make Up Forever Ultra HD Foundation from Sephora. I feel much more comfortable when I wear it as a base layer on my skin.
What is your favorite coffee drink?
I love all kinds of coffee. There isn’t a single type of coffee drink I would turn away. However, my favorite right now is the New Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew at Starbucks. I like to mobile order it on my way to work and customize it to cut the syrup in half. (Still plenty of flavor)
What would you say is the most important quality to have as a fashion
Time management. With blogging there is always more work to do. There is ALWAYS more work you could do to promote the blog. It never ends. Therefore it’s very important to prioritize what you want to get done versus what you MUST get done, as well as find the time to do it all. You also need to know when to stop and take a break or you will get burnt out too quickly.
What was one of your biggest obstacles as a fashion blogger?
My biggest obstacle has been juggling a full time job as a lower level manager and blogging at the same time while still trying to do a good job on the blog and give it all I’ve got.
What is your guilty pleasure (food wise)?
A Chickfila Cookies and Cream milkshake.
How do you juggle between working full time and blogging?
I am strategic about my photos for my outfit posts. Since I work all week (during the day, with little flexibility) I make sure to take my photos on the weekend. Because I don’t want to take pictures every weekend I make sure to knock out about a months’ worth at a time. I wake up an hour earlier than I need to for work and drive near my office to sit at the local Starbucks and knock out some emails or a blog post. I go to the Starbucks next door on my lunch break to do the same. At night if I have a deadline to meet I will do a little more. I don’t like to write my blog posts in advance. I like to write them all in the spur of the moment, when I’m inspired and really want to do it!
If you could go back ten years and tell your former self one thing, what
would you say?
I would have told myself to not stress out as much and have more fun.
What are some of your long term goals with your blog?
I would love to grow my blog to the point where I start my own clothing line on the blog (with just a few simple pieces in addition to the original outfit posts).
