We said goodbye to the warm weather almost a month ago, but every now and then the temperature spikes a little and we get a pleasant 70 degree day that is fit for a high neck cotton dress and a cardigan.
It is on days like those that I am the happiest girl in Pennsylvania. That temperature that is right between blistering cold and warm makes me want to sit outside with a cup of hot chocolate and read one of my many books on my reading list (a list that I may never finish since it keeps growing).
I’m not a person that enjoys goodbyes at all. It is not even simply with people, I can’t even say goodbye to thing. But with the hot temperatures that hit us this past summer, I was excited and very willing to say goodbye to the warm weather and welcome in the colder temperatures.
I say hello so willingly because autumn is my favorite season. It may be because I was born in November and I am just drawn to the temperature that I was born into. But I like to say that I love this season because of the colors that come along with it.
The trees change into a lovely shades of orange, brown, and gold. The moss colors that take over the ground and blend in with the falling leaves make me want to jump for joy. And when those colors transpire over into clothes at my favorite stores such as Nordstrom and Macys, I run through those department stores like a kid in a candy story.
I know these 70 degree days won’t last for long, and soon we will all be bundled up in heavy winter coats, UGG boots, and knit scarves, because like they say in Game of Thrones, “winter is coming” and whether we like it or not.
