As a fashion/beauty blogger, I am held to a certain standard – a standard that I set for myself and a standard that comes along with the title. I can’t arrive at events to do PR and/or event coverage in sweatpants and my college sweatshirt. I would be a sore thumb standing in the crowd, and I don’t think that many people would believe the product that I’m pushing. My personal style must be present anytime that I step out to further my brand. I must look like the fashion/beauty blogger; I must look professional.
There are certain events that I attend where I wear outfits that include dresses, skirts, blouses, and clothing in the like, but when I attend events to do coverage, I typically wear something that makes me look fashionable but I am still comfortable.
When I first started attending events working as a blogger and photographer, I wore my best outfits and heels. I soon realized after working as press at these events, I was required to stand on my feet for long periods of time, and in heels, that is one of the most painful things. Soon, I learned that it is best to stay comfortable and do the work I need to do.
Being comfortable doesn’t mean that I can’t be stylish. I can wear fashion tops and chic blazers. My best professional blogger look is when I put together an all black outfit such as this one.
Jenabelle recently sent me this top that I am now integrating into my collection of clothing for my professional blogger looks. It is chic and it is comfortable – I matched it with a black blazer, black pants, and black boots. Then off I was to the press pit to take photos at one of the many fashion events I have been attending in Philly lately. I love this look and I am so excited to share it.
