Every winter, I see new trends on the street, in magazines, and on the TV. And every year, I look in my closet and realize that I am not keeping up with the winter trends as much as I should be. You would think that the trends would stay with sweaters and boots, which it mostly does, but the color schemes and the styles change from year to year.
Fortunately, the best way to stay with the winter trend is to buy items that can be layered and changed every year. My jeans stay with every trend and I choose to buy all my jeans from American Eagle, because they carry my size (not only in the waist but in the length) and because the jeans go with almost everything and they last so long.
In this outfit for sticking with the winter trend, I decided to pair a warm and comfy white and maroon striped sweater from Primark and a pair of gray fringe boots from Charlotte Russe to bring out my personal style. In the winter, I love to stay comfortable, but more importantly, I like to have an outfit that I can wear to both class (as a graduate student) and work (working in the office at the university).
The most important aspect of this outfit is that it is all under $50 – the top, scarf, jeans, and boots! I enjoy staying within my shopping budget, because we can all be stylish without spending hundreds of dollars.
What are you wearing to keep with the winter trend? Are you sticking to a particular color palette? And are you still able to wear different pieces from previous years. Let me know!
