I will openly admit, I was not always a big fan of Valentine’s Day. I didn’t like the fact that this one day out of the entire year to was picked to celebrate the one that you love – love should be a celebrated every day.
But as I got older, I still believed the love should be celebrated every day, but I began to realize that Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate the love you have with your significant other and the other ones that you love around you. I also understood, that this was one day where PDA was openly accepted, flowers were almost necessary, and life just stopped and presented the opportunity to celebrate in a bigger way. It’s a day where it is acceptable to flaunt you love without being given the weirdest looks.
Being a graduate student who also works part-time, my fiancé and I are barely able to see one another. Our dates are somewhat like scheduled appointments and we have to run back and forth to be able to see each other and still complete that tasks that we are required. But every year, we stop what we are doing and celebrate each other on Valentine’s Day.
For the past couple of years, I have been decking my fiancé out in all things to make him “fly as a mother” (excuse my cheesy music quote). I’ve been buying him sweaters, ties, and other accessories. One year for Christmas, I bought him a high-end black and silver watch. He wears it to all his important functions and absolutely loves it.
Almost six months ago, I received my own JORD watch and he became obsessed with it (see my previous watch). He made it a point to keep mentioning that he would love a stylish wood watch like mine for one of our gift giving holidays – or on just any day that I feel like buying him a gift.
He made it known that he didn’t only want the watch because it was stylish – he wanted the watch because he wanted to match me. To him, it makes us closer and that makes me feel all warm inside to know that he loves me so much that he wants another way to connect us.
This year, I received another JORD watch – the Sully in Natural Green Sandalwood.
It is a neutral watch that can be worn with almost any everyday outfit, and can be worn throughout the year. Just as love has no time, this watch knows no specific season, which makes this the perfect gift to buy for anyone special in your life – including yourself! The person you choose to give this gift to will be able to wear it year round and feel a special connection to you.
I will be looking to purchase a matching watch for my man very soon. He won’t only be matching me, but other members of my family who have fallen in love with these watches.
So now that you are thinking about who you are going to give your JORD gift to, I’m here to give you a special Valentine’s Day gift because I adore my readers.
