How to Keep that Summer Hair Shine with Sally Beauty

As you have heard a few times, I have been going strong with taking care of my natural hair. Even with extensions, twists or any braids that I put in, I make sure that my natural hair is strong and healthy.

During the summer, my hair sometimes gets damaged because of the heat and humidity. I often find myself not using blow dryers or flat irons because I don’t want to do further damage to my hair. In that situation, I can’t style my hair like I want to. It becomes very frustrating. I stuck to tight buns and pulled back twists. Or it just looks absolutely flat like it did when I went to an event a few weeks ago.

I didn’t like it. So this summer, I decided to make a change.

This summer I sought out to find the best hair care products that would mend my hair damage and allow me to style my hair however I wanted.

I’ve shopped at Sally Beauty for as long as I can remember. They have every hair product, styling tool, accessory, and color products that I have ever needed. And they are trusted and recommended by my own hair stylist.

Recently, I stumbled upon the Ion Repair Solutions line at Sally Beauty, and these products have gotten me back to not being afraid of my hair dryer.

Here’s step-by-step of what I did to get my Summer Shine back!

1 – I started by washing my hair with my favorite shampoo and conditioner – Shea Moisture (not shown) – this brought moisture back into my hair and gave it the extra repair that it needed.  After the wash, I lightly towel dried it leaving my hair still dripping somewhat, and went to start the process of styling.

2 – Next, I generously applied the Ion leave-in conditioning spray to all of my natural curls. Note that I did this before separating or combing through my hair. This is important because this product actually helps to detangle, so you’re not breaking off your hair by pulling at it.

3 – After, I divided my hair into four sections (as needed for my hair length) and gently combed through each section starting from the ends and moving towards the root. ion repair leave in conditioner

4 – As I completed combing through each section, I applied the Ion Split End Mender to each section. For my hair length, I used a dime sized amount for each of the four sections of my hair. You should determine how much you need based on how long your own hair is. ion split end menderion split end menderion repair 5 – Now after each section was combed through and both of the Ion products were put in. It was time to apply some heat. I applied my favorite heat protecting spray and was ready to go. The Hot Shot Tools Ionic Tourmaline Blow Dryer is amazing for my hair. I was able to put the temperature on high but the fan on low so that I was not putting so much heat on my hair at once. I used a paddle brush and the concentrator to easily dry my hair in the sections that they were in.

6 – After each section was dried, my hair was pretty much straight and I could see the shine already. My ends did not feel rough and dry instead they looked straight as well. Next, I was ready to use my Hot Shot Tools Curling Iron to add some light curls to my hair. I started off with tight curls and then allowed them to drop during the day so that I ended up with a flowing summer hair style.

After using these products from Sally Beauty, I was able to get a stunning look for one of my fabulous style shoots. My hair was wavy and flowing and left me feeling absolutely stunning!

I would highly recommend it! Summer dries out my hair and the heat doesn’t do anything else to help, but the Ion Repair products have treated my hair so well.

Oh, my hair is in bad shape. I think after I get it trimmed, I’m going to stop by Sally’s and pick up all the hair care products you’ve mentioned, especially the Ion leave-in conditioning spray.

The leave-in conditioning spray is working wonders for my hair. I’ve actually gone back and purchased other items from the Ion Repair collection, and my hair has been healing so much.

Leave in conditioner has to be one of the greatest inventions for hair. Nowadays our hair endures a lot of strain for outside and artificial heat. It looks like you’ve found the perfect combination for feeding our tresses!
