A Touch of Lace

I have this huge obsession with lace. It just looks amazing. But so many people tell me that lace is just not for the winter time. My response to that – “Lace is for every season. It is just how you wear it.”

Lace has always been on trend. It has been used in trimming, as the main focus, as a decorative accent…

It’s basically everywhere.

And this past season, I have seen so many tops, pants, and dresses that have used lace as the focal of the piece. The style provides an elegant /feminine aspect that also gives off a chic and fierce feel the outfit that you are styling.

My favorite pieces to wear of lace are tops and dresses. Though many pants have started to bring in this fabric to accent certain lines, I haven’t quite latched onto that style as of yet and honestly, I don’t think it suits me well.

Recently, on my trip to the mall, I visited all of my top stores (seen in the sidebar) and literally, every store had lace pieces that I felt that I had to have.

I found this amazing sheer lace top from Forever 21 that I just needed to have in my own closet. It is a light fabric that also brings in elements of the winter and spring time. It is feminine and bold, and can be layered however you see fit.

My favorite part about this top is the fact that it is like an oversized top with longer and wider sleeves. Making the shirt easily layer-able and breathe-able.

There are so many trends that have stayed or taken off this season. And I am actually really excited to see the trends that are going to be showcased that this season’s NYFW.

I am so bummed that I cannot attend this season (saving grace is that I don’t have to bear the cold), but I am fortunate to have some amazing blogger friends that are going to cover for me.

Next year, I’ll be there.
