For those who are around me day in and day out, they know that I’m very comfortable in the laid back look that I’ve been sporting for my entire life. Granted, when I was in high school, I was more of a sweatpants and sweatshirt girl and then eventually in collage I changed my style and decided to actually try to dress. Nonetheless, even now where I am a sucker for the chic-est pieces in the stores like Makemechic, I still love the no make-up look with a pair of comfy jeans and a basic statement piece.
There’s something in wearing and outfit that is so basic that it shows off your sense of style. There have been tons of bloggers and people I see in the street who wear solid colors with straight lines that look so basic that it becomes ultimately one of the most wanted pieces ever. Even with the velvet trend taking the fashion world to a whole new level, the texture is where the fashion is and the colors are often basic and the lines are often straight.
This fun draped jacket is a neutral color which is fit for not only the season but my style and frame. I love that this basic piece is not too long, because as a petite woman that is one of my concerns when wearing longer coats or jackets.
Pairing this jacket with some light wash jeans and a white v-neck tee was one of the best and most comfortable outfits that I have worn so far this season. This is the kind of outfit that I would want to wear for a long day at the mall shopping where I want to look like the fashionable woman in the store, but I mostly want to be comfortable while I’m walking from store to store.
There’s just something about looking clean and not putting too much into that I have clutched too for so long, and even with my birthday coming and me become a quarter of a century old, I think this is one trend/feeling that I am going to keep for a very long time.
