Instagram Round-Up: Bahamas Vacation Looks

Lovers And Friends Gown

If you hadn’t been following me on Instagram {which you should be…so make sure to follow me}, I went to Nassau Bahamas early August with hubby. It was a much needed vacation. I was able to kick back on the beach with my husband and enjoy a luxury vacation that was also filled with some adventure. We got to jet ski around the clear water of the Bahamas, and we even got to dance with the dolphins. But I don’t want to give too much away because I’ll be sharing my full recap of the trip in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, you can check out my Nassau, Bahamas vlog to get a peek into our luxury vacation. Over the trip, I wore a collection of comfortable but luxurious looks for less that were fit for our Bahamas trip. They all kept me cool and kept me looking my best. Even so much, I had people at the resort with me complimenting my outfits and asking me where they could get some of these pieces too. So now that I am back, I want to share with you my full looks and favorite clothes for the Bahamas from my trip to Nassau, Bahamas to give you some inspiration for your own Bahamas packing list.

If you have never been to the Bahamas, I can’t recommend the experience enough. No matter what you enjoy about travel, there is something in the Bahamas for you. When heading somewhere tropical, one of my favorite travel tips is that you always need to bring your beach wear – even if you don’t plan on getting in the water. The glorious temperatures year round of the Bahamas will have you reaching for your sun hat and water bottle, no matter the season. This polka dot swim suit was my favorite beachwear look because it actually had me breaking away from my fears that I can’t wear key hole pieces like this because I feel as if I don’t really have a chest. This suit was definitely flattering at every angle.

This black Voda Swim bikini is also a classic look, perfect for any tropical vacation. Everyone says you need a little black dress, but I’d argue that a little black bikini is just as important. I paired it with a Revolve sarong and flip flops for a look that was comfortable, classy, and fun.

When selecting clothes for the Bahamas, there are certain looks that just go with the atmosphere and this dress was one of them. When I put this dress on, I felt at ease and felt as if I was one with the look and feel of the Bahamas. The Bahamas boast all of the life and adventure of South America without ever having to leave the North American continent. The tropics are a place that make you feel at home, so why not wear a dress that makes you feel comfortable, luxurious, and one with the cool Bahamian breeze.

I paired this dress with gold jewelry and a pair of my favorite sandals. The complete look was luxurious, beachy, and perfect for the fun and exciting yet relaxing atmosphere of the Bahamas.

Sometimes, we have to double up and use our swimsuit as a layer underneath our outfit. Why not wear a cover-up or tuck one in your beach bag you may ask? Because when you go to a private island after visiting a few other destinations, you may want to wear a party outfit first but also be prepared to jump into the water or lay on the shore at any moment. When you travel to the Bahamas, you should be prepared for anything. Isn’t that the point of looking for adventure when you go on vacation?

Life in the tropics is all about versatility. I love putting together looks that can go from the beach to a party or restaurant in just a few moments. It gives an air of spontaneity and fun to the trip that reminds us that life in the Bahamas is all about relaxing and going with the flow. When you choose outfits that can work anywhere and for anything, you feel like you can take on the world – like you can go anywhere and be anyone you want to be. Everything is a little freer and a little more exciting. Who wouldn’t want to live in that?

Throwing this cute outfit over top of my classic black bikini was the perfect solution for a day that I knew had the possibility of taking me to any number of places. I was ready to take on the world, and looked stylish while doing it! I received so many compliments and comments on what a fun outfit this was, and I would certainly recommend packing similarly as you prepare for your own vacation to the Bahamas. Private island, here you come!

“Let’s Head to the Gala”

Dress – Revolve

At many of the all-inclusive luxury resorts there will be nightly activities to keep all the guest entertained and to make us feel like we are in the right place at the right time. During our trip, there were two nights in particular that this dress was made for – the Gala & Casino night. I felt luxurious and glamorous in this classic but fun and flirty dress – like the main character in my own tropical luxury adventure. It’s important to wear pieces that make you feel confident, and this dress made me feel like I could take on the world. Also, what is a better distraction when playing cards than a woman in a beauty red gown? This dress floated from place to place and laid on my skin so well. If I were ever to be invited to a red carpet event, I know I already have the dress ready. *cough* I’m speaking to you Grammys, BET, Essence…I’m ready!

“Spending Time in the Straw Market”

The one place that every Bahamian will tell you that you must go is to the straw market and to the fish fry in downtown Nassau. You simply can’t have a trip to the Bahamas without this experience! In the straw market, you can find many handmade trinkets and items that you can barter for with the sellers/makers. Then over at the fish fry, you’ll be able to divulge in authentic cuisine from the Bahamas. A day at the straw market and at the fish fry is sure to make you feel just like one of the locals – like you’re living out your dreams of day to day life in the Bahamas instead of just on vacation. Travel allows you to become someone else for a few days, and I love having the opportunity to adventure into the day to day life of the places that I visit.

During our visit, I made sure to dress with clothing that was going to give me enough space in the core region to divulge in the food. I also wanted to make sure that I brought along a pair of good walking shoes – these adorable sandals were a favorite item in my luggage – that would keep me comfortable as we walk around the area. We were only in the area for a short time, and the last thing that I wanted was to be worried about feeling uncomfortable or in pain because I wore the wrong shoes or outfit. When I look back on my clothes for the Bahamas, these looks are ones that I would come back to again and again for their comfort, style, and class. They were perfect for the tropical atmosphere, and would definitely be items that I would bring on my next Bahamian getaway.
