Margaritas are always fun to have and make at home, but sometimes we want a little more than the pour and go margarita or just adding some lime juice to tequila and making a basic margarita. Not that there is anything wrong with a base margarita, but sometimes some of us want a little bit more fun and flavor to our margaritas.
There are quite a few margarita recipes that I have made over this past year to change up the flavors including the Vanilla Pear Margarita that is a reader favorite, but I decided to create a margarita that brought a summery flavor that is refreshing and has a great balance of sweetness that is not too overwhelming.
The Basil Strawberry Margarita has been my favorite margarita to make at home. And this is one that I don’t just make in the warmer months, but like to enjoy it year round because of the refreshing flavor. The cocktail brings in two summertime flavors – basil and strawberry – with a hint of mint to create a cocktail that you’ll want to drink while sitting outside relaxing in the late summer evenings or serve at a BBQ that you are hosting in your backyard.
The margarita is super simple to make and doesn’t take that long to prepare and serve. The Basil Strawberry Margarita is a margarita that you and everyone will love.
Basil Strawberry MARGARITA
Making the basil strawberry margarita only really requires a cocktail shaker and a muddler and less than two minutes of your time. The easy recipe is one that you can make in small batches of 2-4 drinks at a time or in a pitcher if you want to make a large batch to serve for a group. For me, I prefer making in small batches because the flavor tends to be more optimal with all of the flavors spread out through each drink. Of course, like any margarita, you’ll need to grab your favorite tequila and for a special additive, I mixed things up and added a little brandy in this cocktail recipe.
