Casual Holiday Look

Next week marks the beginning of December which officially means that holiday season is completely here. Next week, if you haven’t already, you can break out the holiday decor, go grab your tree, and put up the holiday lights to show your holiday spirit. Your holiday party calendar may already be beginning to fill up, or maybe, those holiday invites are on their way. And now that you are adding those dates into your calendar, it’s time to start figuring out what you’re going to wear – which can be hard to figure out depending on the occasion. Maybe it’s a casual holiday outfit that you need, or maybe something a little more dressy. There’s the holiday office party, the white elephant party, the holiday meal with friends where you call exchange gifts, and then there are the pre-holiday visits to family members house’s that you won’t be seeing on Christmas Day.

For us, we have a mixture of all types of holiday gatherings. Though I’ll be missing out on the work holiday party this year, I get to live the work party experience through my husband. And I still have the gatherings with friends, family, and, for us, my grandmother hosts a New Year’s Day dinner at her house where we exchange gifts with her and our other family members since we don’t all get together on Christmas Day.

No matter the gathering, I know that I go through my closet trying to figure out what I am going to wear to a holiday party. Is this too dressy? Is this too casual? Is this festive? Where is that ugly sweater that I typically wear each year?

There are so many options of things to wear. I have already shared a holiday look featuring one of the trends of the season – velvet. But today, I wanted to officially kick of the series of holiday looks starting with this casual holiday look.

This casual holiday outfit features an open back top with high waisted distressed jeans. And then to add a little flare, I wore a pair of black pumps to add a little bit of dressiness to the look while still keeping it casual.

I’m probably going to be wearing this look to a gathering of friends for Christmas as it would be great for when we get together over dinner and drinks at one of the local eateries. Not too fancy, but not overly casual. Making it perfect for that occasion.

There are so many other holiday outfits that I am super excited to share with you, so make sure that you keep an eye out for upcoming posts or scroll to the bottom of this post and sign up for my newsletter where you’ll receive exclusive looks into holiday looks and things I am shopping for the holidays.
