Like almost every other teenager, I struggled with acne for years. And then even as I got older and the hormones that were causing me to break out settled, I was never comfortable with my skin. We all naturally find our own imperfections – it is something that in our nature. Even though I don’t break out as often as I used to, I still have major concerns about my skin. My biggest skin concern is the oiliness look that my skin gives off. In the morning, my skin looks natural and clear, but by the middle of the day, I look as if I am melting.
For years, I thought it was because my skin was naturally oily, but then I learned that I actually have dry skin and because I wasn’t cleansing my skin deep enough to get rid of the dry skin on the top layer, my skin was over-producing oil which made my skin look so glossy.
I’ve tried so many products and so many techniques since finding them.
Now, I will be very open with you. I have found products that I have been using that have helped me in certain areas. But these products typically only help me when I don’t put makeup on my face afterwards.
With my wedding approaching in 7 months, I have made it a mission to find the right process and product that will leave me unglossed and looking flawless on my wedding day. And in my search, I cam across the Clarisonic Mia 2.
I’ve tried Clarisonic before, and I stopped using it when I did have one. It wasn’t that I didn’t like the product at all. It was just that at the time, I wasn’t as patient with my skin and the process as much as I should have been.
So I decided to try it out again and be a little more patient, because if you truly want results, you have to be patient with everything.
The Clarisonic Mia 2 comes with all essential pieces – the charger, the brush, and the ‘device’ itself. The contents also include the Deep Pore Daily Cleanser and a Clay Mask.
I tried both of the cleaners. Using the cleanser with the Mia 2 at night and then by itself in the morning. The clay mask I used at most 2 times a week and used the Mia 2 in order to wash the mask off as recommended.
The Clarisonic device was not abrasive on my skin, which is what I was afraid of when I first picked it up again. I have very sensitive skin, so anything that is too rough for my skin will immediately leave it enflammed and burning for the remainder of the day. The Mia 2 did just the opposite.
During the cleansing process, the sonic brush worked over my skin with the device indicating to me when to move from one part of my face to another.
After using it, my face felt as if it was deeply clean and I was able to apply moisturize that actually got into my skin and did not simply just sit on the surface as it usually did.
I’ve been using the Clarisonic Mia 2 for awhile now, and I’m liking the results. I have run out of the daily cleanser, but that hasn’t stopped me from using my Mia 2 device. I am able to use other cleansers with the device in order to have them work into my skin and still keep my skin healthy and a little less oily.
I would advise any bride that is looking to go through the skin care regimen leading up to the wedding day to try out the Clarisonic Mia 2 and see whether it works for you. From now until October 31st, you can get the Clarisonic Mia 2 for 15% off using the code: HERCAMPUS.
