Entryway Table Decor Scaled

Psychology tells us that we have anywhere from 5-30 seconds to make a first impression. When it comes to your home, the first space that your guests are going to see will be the entryway – and it’s in the entryway that they will develop their first impression of your home. The entryway sets the tone for the entire space – it gives guests an idea of your style and the level of care you have put in. Crafting the perfect entryway table is my favorite place to start, so today, I want to share my favorite entryway table ideas for your home!

I love styling entryway tables because they give you such a fun opportunity to showcase your style and personality immediately to guests as they enter your home. It’s important to make your entryway a space that you love walking into at the end of a long day. When you walk into your home, you want to feel safe, comfortable, and at peace. The right entryway can give you just that feeling. So as you dive into the following decorating ideas to decide which ones you will love, keep that in mind – what gives you the feeling of coming home? What makes you feel peaceful and at rest at the end of the day? What will bring you joy day after day? Once you answer those questions, you will be on your way to styling the perfect entryway table for your home.

1. KISS – Keep It Simple, Sweetheart

Your entryway isn’t a space to overthink. Home decor can be overwhelming, especially if you’re tackling a lot of projects at once. Take the pressure off by allowing yourself to keep the entryway simple. Accessorize with a few items, like a candle that you love, but don’t go over the top if you don’t want to. Focus on the way your entryway makes you feel – I love the richness and depth of this table above!

2. Add Some Greenery

Nothing makes your space feel more alive than by surrounding yourself with plants. Greenery adds a great pop of color and immediately makes the room feel more inviting, which is exactly what you want to achieve with your entryway. And hey, if you don’t have a green thumb, you can find some gorgeous fake greenery to give your space the same effect. Don’t worry – I won’t tell.

3. Embrace the Extra Storage

Your entryway can be a great place to sneak in some extra storage – and let’s be honest, we could all use that! I love entryway tables that have an added space for storage bins so that I can have a spot to tuck a few stray things away while keeping my space looking clean and put together. Storage bins are also a great place to keep those items that you’re always looking for on your way out the door, from your purse to the dog’s leash. Having storage in your entryway is a huge simplifier!

4. Try a Monochrome Look

Tired of trying to put together a color palette for your space? Save yourself time and energy by going monochrome. This white look is super clean, and I love the simple pop of color that the blue vase gives, immediately drawing your eye to it. It’s elegant and easy, and you really can’t go wrong.

5. Go Minimalistic

Remember: sometimes, less is more! I love the look of minimalistic entryways, as their simplicity and neutral colors give your home a clean and relaxed feel. It’s easy to become stressed when you feel like you’re surrounded by clutter. With a minimalistic entryway table, you’re immediately saying, “This is a space where I can breathe.” The last thing that you need is added stress in your life, and minimalistic entryways are a great way to begin letting that stress go.

6. Display Your Favorite Photos

Your entryway is a great spot to immediately showcase what matters most to you – the people you love. Building a gallery wall of photos above your entryway table gives your home a warm and inviting tone. It gives your guests a look into your life, and is sure to make you smile every time you walk in the door. Your home is all yours – make it feel like it.

7. Switch Things Up with a Bench

Want to add a unique touch to your entryway? Instead of using a traditional table, swap the table out for a bench! You can still use the space in the same way that you would a table, adding decorative elements atop the bench, but it gives your entryway a little extra flair and switches up what your guests might be expecting to see when they walk into your home.

You also could consider only adding decorative elements to half of the bench, and using the other half as a spot to sit down to slip on your shoes or to set your purse when you come in.

8. Incorporate a Large Mirror

An entryway is the perfect spot to feature a statement mirror. Not only does it open up the space and make it feel bigger and brighter (making a mirror the perfect design choice for small spaces), it also gives you a spot for a quick last-minute check on your way out the door. There are so many fun mirrors on the market right now, from circular mirrors to blob mirrors and more, so you can really customize your space and make a statement.

9. Keep Fresh Flowers

Nothing makes a space feel more welcoming than a vase of fresh flowers on the entry table. It’s one of my favorite entryway table ideas, because keeping flowers in your entryway adds such a bright touch to the space, making everything feel just a bit happier. My pro tip? Start with daisies, because, in the words of Kathleen Kelly, they’re the friendliest flower.

10. Make it Functional

I’m a firm believer in the fact that a space should be both stylish and functional. If you’re working with a smaller space, it can be a good idea to opt for a smaller entryway table and add something to the wall above. One of my favorite decor ideas is this mirror/pegboard combination as it gives you the best of everything. Not only does the mirror add depth and space to the entryway, but the shelf gives you the ability to decorate with knickknacks and pretty greenery while the pegs allow you to organize your life.

11. Embrace Maximalism

In my opinion, one of the most fun styles of entry table decor is maximalism. It’s your space, so why not enjoy it? Going all out with decor and latching on to elegant and glam items that bring you joy is one of the best ways to make a space your own. Minimalism may be hot right now, but maximalism is on the rise, and hey – it’s your space, so go with what you love!

12. Feature an Art Print

One of the best ways that you can add a personal touch to your entryway is by featuring artwork that you love. It’s a great way to feature a piece that means something to you, and you can never go wrong by supporting the artists that you love. Adding an art print over your entryway table gives the space a unique touch that you can guarantee no one else will have.
