We all know that when fall comes, that means it’s the beginning of the holiday season. And the beginning of holiday season brings so many fun activities, parties, and family outings.
Fall is my favorite season for many reasons. One – my birthday falls into this season. Two – I am addicted to cuddling up in a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate or tea and watching a good thriller on Netflix. And three – I love the different outings that come with this season such as apple picking, hayrides, and haunted houses. More importantly, this season brings people together. Out of the entire year, this season is the time where I see my friends and family the most often due to various parties and get-togethers.
In the past, I used to struggle with what I should wear for fall parties. It’s like that ShoeDazzle commercial where the friend tell the girl in the commercial to dress casual and she looks at her entire closet like….what?! That’s me. When leaving the house to go places with friends, I am not always much for casual. But I don’t want to be the person that shows up overdressed or under-dressed. If you struggle like me, it’s okay to raise your hand high while reading this.
Now for all those with your hands up, I am here to tell you that there is a happy medium. When you’re going to a fall party, you don’t have to dress like you’re going to a barn wedding. But you don’t have to limit yourself to wearing simply jeans and a nice sweater. You can still play up your personal style to where it is a fabulous casual. And the best thing to do is to be you and don’t overthink it.
Finding that happy medium is as simple as looking in your closet and thinking of what the occasion is and whether you’re comfortable. Leave the stilettos at home if it is a party where you’re most likely going to be sitting with your friends around a table playing a hilarious game of Heads Up. But also, don’t feel like you have to leave your heels at home. You want to wear a cute pair of heels, do it. If you want to stick to a comfy, but stylish, pair of sneakers – do it!
When dressing for fall celebrations and parties, it’s all about what you want to wear to show off your personal style.
