Let’s talk about the working world and how the outfits in your closet aren’t always appropriate for the office, or if you are like me, for teaching in a classroom. There are select pieces that you can wear and for the most part it is very limited. Now, let’s talk about a scenario that happens on occasion – this scenario involves being invited out for drinks or happy hour right after work. You have no time to go home and change, and the outfit that you would wear to work is not appropriate for the bar and vice-versa. So what do you do?
My answer – you find an outfit that easily converts from a work outfit to a cute night-out outfit!
I try to shop tops and bottoms that are versatile so that I don’t have to spend too much money buying two separate wardrobes, and so that I don’t have to quickly run home after work to change when I want to meet up with friends for some drinks. It’s pretty easy once you establish your sense of style and take time to find the pieces that are just right.
For example, this skirt from Couture Mannequin is extremely versatile, and I must say chic. I can wear this to the office when resting it on my hips and then adjusting it’s placement to create my night-out look. The peplum style gives it sophistication with a slight edge, and by adding a belt, I can create a completed look.
