After ages of asking myself, “Is Lulus legit?” I decided to bite the bullet and try a Lulus order so that I could put together the ultimate Lulus review for you all.
Spoiler alert: my first Lulus order wasn’t my last. While there are definitely pros and cons to shopping from Lulus, I haven’t found the cons to outweigh the benefits. We live in the age of online shopping. Gone are the days where you had to go to the mall every time that you needed a new outfit – now you can simply pop online, do some quick scrolling and browsing and have an outfit that you love sent to your door in a matter of days. The internet has changed the world of shopping for good, and let’s be honest – I’m thrilled that it did. I love online shopping – both as a fashion lover who is always excited to find a great new piece and as a busy working mom who doesn’t always have time to shop around town whenever I’m looking for something specific.
The downside of online shopping, however, is that it can be hard to know who to trust. If a shop is one that you don’t frequent in person, it can be difficult to know what your experience will be like. Will the customer service be up to par? What will the shipping times be like? And will the pieces look anything like the images online when they show up at your house? Will they be good quality, or will they fall apart the first time that you wear them?
In a world of fast fashion and discount clothing that’s cheap at the expense of quality, shopping can quickly become a struggle. That’s why I’m always a bit hesitant to try shopping from a new store – I don’t know if the experience will be a positive one or not. At the end of the day, though, I always want to find new places to grab pieces that I’m obsessed with, and I decided that shopping at Lulus was worth a shot. After all, if I didn’t like it, I didn’t ever have to shop there again – but if I liked it, I’d have a new world of clothes at my disposal.
I’ve been thrilled to discover that not only is Lulus legit, but their clothes are super cute. They are known mainly for their dresses – a lot of people get their bridesmaid dresses or pieces for wedding related events at Lulus – but the shop offers a wide range of pieces and styles for all different occasions. From tops to skirts to pants to shoes to accessories, there are so many options to choose from when shopping at Lulus.

IS LULUS Fast Fashion?
Fast fashion companies like Shein don’t have the best reputation due both to the quality of their pieces and the treatment of their workers. Many bloggers do their best to avoid shopping from places that are considered to be fast fashion, which is why many are hesitant about Lulus.
Lulus, however, is actually not a fast fashion shop! In fact, it’s considered to be an affordable luxury brand. Unlike places like Shein, which are known to rip off designs from other people, most of the clothing at Lulus is exclusive to Lulus, which means you can know you’re shopping ethically.
IS CLOTHING FROM LULUS Good Quality?
It is! Since Lulus is not a fast fashion shop, I have actually been pleased with the quality of their pieces, especially for the price point. I have read that different bloggers and influencers have had a few issues with pieces ordered from Lulus, such as zippers that are difficult to use or white clothing items that are too thin, but as a whole, I’ve had a positive experience ordering clothing from Lulus, which is why I wanted to share this Lulus review with you today.
Their pieces tend to run small, so if you’re on the fence about sizing, many bloggers and influencers tend to recommend sizing up, just to be on the safe side. But one great thing to do when ordering off a Lulu’s and taking in how the piece will fit is to use the Fit Finder. On there, you’ll be able to put in what your typical size is for an item that is similar to what you’re buying, and they’ll tell you what size you should consider buying. When I order, I not only use the Fit Finder, but I also look at the Model Info and the Size & Fit tab which tell you what size the model is wearing and her measurements, and it also details how the item is supposed to fit. So if you’re someone looking for a dress that is tighter, but the Size & Fit information says the waist fits looser, take that into account when ordering what size you may want, if you’re really interested in that sizing.
I have found that either order my actual size or a size up goes best for me. I like the way their items often fit with the small exception that I often have a difficult time with lengths of maxi dresses, maxi skirts, and some of their jeans and pants since I am on the shorter side. But I either end up hemming those pieces, if needed, or finding a way to shorten it without the need to hem the piece at all.
Navigating THE LULUS WEBSITE
The Lulus site is well-structured and easy to navigate and use. The categories are listed across the top, so you can quickly access the type of clothing item that you’re looking for.
There is a section on Lulus specifically for weddings, so if you’re planning to use Lulus to shop for your wedding, they make it easy. They have a wide selection of wedding guest looks, as well as a ton of different bridesmaid dresses. I love that they offer inspiration on trending bridesmaid dress colors for the bride who may not be sure what she’s looking for. Lulus also sells wedding dresses, and it’s so much fun to scroll through all of the different options whether you’re planning a wedding or just dreaming! They have ceremony dresses, reception dresses, exit outfits and more, so if you’re in the midst of putting together your dream day, Lulus is a great go-to for everything in one place.
I’m also always quick to hit up Lulus sale section, as well as their outlet offerings on their website! These pieces are generally final sale, so I recommend getting used to shopping at Lulus first and learning how their clothes fit you before you dive into the final sale pieces, but I’ve found some great deals there and can guarantee you will, too.
Ordering FROM LULUS
When you first open the Lulus site, you’ll often get a pop-up ad with a discount code, so be sure to take advantage of that! It never hurts to have a discount. You also can get 15% off when you sign up for texts from Lulus – just text ‘LULUS’ to 54858.
Sometimes you’ll be able to qualify for free shipping by spending a certain amount, but it depends on the day and the deals available, so keep an eye out! Once you are done shopping, your order will be shipped within 1-2 business days and shipping speed tends to be pretty standard. Lulus ships out from within the United States, so you don’t have to expect crazy long shipping times. With the holidays coming up, though, it never hurts to factor in a little extra time as things tend to get delayed in a way that isn’t within anyone’s control – it just comes with the time of year. You’ll be able to track your package, so you’ll get to keep any eye on it and have an estimated arrival time, which I always like.
WHAT IS LULUS Return Policy?
Well, there’s good news and bad news. The good news is, Lulus does offer free returns – but only if you return your pieces within seven days. After the seven day mark, you’ll be charged a $7 return fee for the return shipping.
While I’m glad that they do give the option of having free returns, let’s be honest – seven days is a pretty quick turnaround time, especially when you consider the time that goes into packing everything back up and getting it shipped. For this reason, I definitely recommend not procrastinating and trying on your Lulus pieces as soon as you get them – that way you have as long as possible to send them back if they don’t work for you.

At the end of the day, I really do love Lulus clothing. They offer a wide variety of cute and stylish choices across the board for so many different events and environments. They’re a go-to shop for all things wedding related, and if I find myself needing to shop for a dress for an upcoming event, Lulus is one of my top choices when I’m online shopping. Their quality is a lot better than fast fashion shops like Shein, but their prices are still affordable, which I really appreciate. Lulus is definitely a budget friendly option while still being fun and fashionable – always a big win in my book!
Their site is easy to navigate, and the ordering process is smooth. I haven’t had any super negative experiences with their shipping, either, although it is important to keep in mind that you don’t have a super long time to take care of your returns – only seven days, so you have to make sure to stay on top of everything or you risk being charged the $7 return shipping fee. However, if you return within seven days, you get free shipping, which is super nice. Is Lulus the most upscale, high quality shop online? No – but they’re a fabulous shop all the same, and as a whole, I’ve been happy with the pieces I’ve ordered, and I expect that I will order more pieces from Lulus in the future.
