Carter’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Birthday Party

Honestly, I still can’t believe it, but my little guy has turned TWO! It feels like it was yesterday that we were heading to the hospital and celebrating his arrival to the world. It’s been a whirlwind of the past two years, and watching him grow has been a huge blessing that, sometimes, I don’t think I even deserve.

These past two years, Carter has done a lot and, because his father and I are travelers, he’s been quite a few places too. Come to think of it, in a few months, he’ll be a world traveler. But like that trip, the trips in the past, and the trips to come, our little guy is teaching us things the same way that we are teaching him.

Last year, for his first birthday, we did a basketball-themed birthday party to go along with interests that we had for him, but this year we decided to let his interests factor into what his birthday party theme would be.

Carter loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He loves it so much he actually sings along to the theme song and the ‘Hot Diggity Dog’ song. So because he loves the fun-filled cartoon so much, we decided to do a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse birthday party. OH TWODDLES!

OUR MICKEY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

One of Carter’s favorite cartoons is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He’s loved it for years and typically chooses it as his go-to when he gets time on his tablet. So as we began planning for his 2nd birthday, the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was the go-to birthday theme.
For location, we began looking at a variety of places in are area that would allow us to be able to decorate without too many constraints and we also wanted it to be an area where Carter and his young friends would be able to go and have plenty of things to do. We started looking at places such as the trampoline places and other kid’s party zones, but there were too many restrictions not only on decorating, but on what food you could bring. I had a plan for the cupcake tower that we ended up getting for this party, but at those places, we wouldn’t have been able to bring it. So we settled just an outdoor location at my family home and rented a water slide bouncy house which the kids loved.
The balloon displays were provided by one of my go-to vendors of the Philadelphia area – Slay Displays – and the other decor was a mixture of purchases from Amazon and local party stores which you can shop on this post. I did a lot of the cooking with some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed foods, and desserts were provided by Mo Sweets Please and Malizzi Cakes & Pastries.

Vendors for our MICKEY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE BIRTHDAY PARTY

Picking vendors for a party can be quite tricky – especially if you’re like me and you’re very Type A and know exactly how you want it and where you want it. For a children’s birthday party, you want to pick vendors that will help you to bring your vision to life while also making sure everything fits to a kid-friendly party but also so that whatever is provided is also suitable for the adults. When I go through picking vendors for our parties, I typically start with people that I have been referred to or have used before, and then if those people are unavailable or the prices just aren’t within my budget, I shop around to see what other vendors are out there that will be a fit for what I am planning. For Carter’s birthday party, our three main vendors brought the gold standard and brought our Mickey Mouse Clubhouse birthday party to life right before our eyes.

  • SLAY DISPLAYS
Slay Displays is a local Philadelphia area event display / decoration company. The owner, Julia, and Slay Displays have been doing my events for the past three years. She first did the display for our Beauty and the Beast baby shower, and then did the display for Carter’s first birthday, so it was only fitting that Slay Display came and created magic for this Mickey Mouse Clubhouse birthday party. What I love about Slay Displays is that there is nothing that they won’t do to fit your theme. When I asked about doing a display for this birthday party, they offered me custom options that would fit exactly what I was looking for at fair prices.
  • MO SWEETS PLEASE
Mo Sweets Please is another local business who I have used before for Carter’s birthday. Last year, she did the cookies for Carter’s basketball bash and they were an absolute hit. So even before I had a theme, I knew that I was going to be messaging them to create cookies for this Mickey Mouse birthday party. When I did pick the theme and sent my inspiration, she provided clearly what designs I could get within my budget, and the on the day of, all I had to was a quick pick-up to get the individually wrapped cookies that were perfect. Let’s just say that when people left, they had multiple cookies in their hand because of how delicious they are.
  • MALIZZI CAKES & PASTRIES
Malizzi Cakes & Pastries is a new baker that I went with for Carter’s second birthday party. When I had reached out to this local bakery and shared some inspiration pictures, she provided me with the “Of course we can do that!” and the price was just right. On delivery day, the owner showed up and set up the display with the cake and cupcakes and everyone came out to marvel and take pictures of the super cute cupcake tower that she created. Even more, at the end of the night, not only were the cupcakes gone, but the cake only had two slices for us to take home. Come next year, they’ll be hearing from me again.
