Nuuly Review: I Rented from Nuuly and This Is What Happened (+ Promo Code)

Nuuly

There are a lot of subscription services out there, and quite a few of them are clothing rental subscription services. Over the years, I’ve had experience trying out clothing rental and try-on subscriptions such as Rent the Runway, Le Tote, and StitchFix. Each one of these has its pros and cons and each one offers something a little different. With all of these options, one may have a hard time choosing which one is best for you. And you may not be the type that likes to try out different services because, let’s face it, those charges start adding up and it takes away from the funds you have to keep the service going or to purchase a piece that you ended up wanting to keep which is why doing this Nuuly review was so essential for me.

When choosing the subscription service that is best for you, you want to focus on the styles that they contain and the brands and looks that you usually shop. A recent subscription service that has hit the scene is Nuuly which I have used on various travels of mine such as my trip to Chicago. And as someone who actively shops the URBN brands – Urban Outfitters, Free People, and Anthropologie – I felt that this was going to be a subscription service that I would definitely like, so I decided to try it out. So, if you’re on the fence about whether this is for you, I’m sharing my review of the service so that you can decide whether it is right for you.

Nuuly Review: OVERVIEW & GETTING STARTED

Nuuly is a monthly clothing rental subscription service that is by the URBN brand. They carry pieces that you would shop on Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie or Free People. When you sign up for the subscription service, you pay a monthly fee of $88 to select and rent 6 pieces of clothing that you can wear any number of times and return at the end of the month. Each piece can range from $50 – $200+ depending on what you choose and there is no extra fee if you select a piece that is in the higher amounts.

The sign-up process is super easy. You go onto the website, select to join, put in your information, and build your profile based on your body shape, typical sizing, and what you would like to see. Now, don’t think that this will eliminate pieces and you won’t see them at all. The setting up of the profile just narrows down a selection of pieces that you would like and ones that would fit your body shape.

Nuuly Review: CHOOSING YOUR PIECES & GETTING YOUR NUULY

After I completed my profile, I was able to start choosing the six pieces that I wanted for my first box. As I went through each look, I was able to see comments from previous renters stating whether they thought about it, how it fits them, and any other feedback that they felt was relevant. You’ll also get to see the total price of each piece. Some people like seeing the prices for different reasons. The two biggest reasons, from my experience, talking to people, are: Reason #1 is that they want to see it so that they only pick pieces that they may end up purchasing and; Reason #2 is that they want to be able to pick out pieces they wouldn’t be able to afford to purchase outright so that they still get to wear it without having to spend hundreds of dollars.

For me, I do a mixture of both. I like being able to keep my luxury style while still staying in my budget. So being able to rent clothes that would normally cost me $200+ for a third of the price while still being able to get other pieces is a big pro for me.

After you choose your six pieces, you submit and your Nuuly is on it’s way. If there are pieces that you saw and want to save for your next Nuuly, you do have the ability to add it to your closet.

Your Nuuly will typically arrive in 2-3 days in a fabric package that is easily unzipped to access your pieces and other additives, and it is also a convenient package to send your Nuuly back with ease.

Nuuly Review: EACH MONTH WITH NUULY

Once you have your Nuuly, you get to wear the clothes as many times as you would like for the entire month and then by the due date, you send the Nuuly back in the exact bag it came in using the prepaid and included shipping label that if found within the package itself. In your box, you’ll also find some little addatives to help you upkeep the clothes and wear them to perfection. Those addatives include things such as fabric tape, deodorant remover, a lint brush, and couple of other great little helpful tools.

They tell you not to worry about washing the clothes before returning because they take care of that part. They understand your busy life and they also understand that fear that people get when they aren’t planning on keeping someting, so they don’t want to put it in the laundry and ruin it. And you can definitely tell that each piece is laundered because they come crisp and clean. Once you are finished with your pieces and you send them back, you’ll then head back to your Nuuly dashboard and review your pieces and choose the next six selections for next month.

At any time you want a Nuuly to come ahead of time, pause it to take some time off because you’re traveling or for other circumstances, or if you need a little help, Nuuly offers those resources to make sure that you are getting the most out of the subscription service and that it is based on your lifestyle.

My Overall Impression OF MY NUULY REVIEW

There have been a number of times that I have gone into Anthropologie, Free People, and Urban Outfitters and saw pieces that I thought that looked amazing but I wasn’t sure if it was for me and I wasn’t sure whether I would wear it more than once. So, Nuuly grabbed my interest because it allows subscribers to wear the clothing throughout the month without having to make the full purchase if they only feel as if they are going to wear it a few times. This has also helped me in maintaining my closet. I have made it a mission to clean out my closet without adding a lot more clothes back to it, so this has allowed me to still wear new pieces without adding pieces to my closet again.

I am planning on keeping my Nuuly subscription because it gives me the ability to wear clothes that I love, pick them out online, and not have to worry about spending too much money on buying pieces that I may only wear a few times.

The price is definitely worth the subscription service that you get and it is around the price if not lower than other clothing rental subscription services that is around.
