It was truly and honor to be invited to the Michelle Helene presentation and debut during my last day at NYFW. When I received the invitation to attend the show, I must admit that I had not heard much about the designer previously. But when I searched her website and found her previous collections, I knew that this was going to be a great presentation to be attending.
Michelle Helene’s designs are created to contain a sexy and global aesthetic. She finds inspiration for her designs in all the places that she goes – taking everything she sees and combining to create each fascinating piece. Her handcrafted designs showcase her experiences and the care that she takes in creating each piece in each collection.
When attending the Michelle Helene presentation on my final day at NYFW, I was immediately stunned when I walked into the room. In this white-walled room stood models in three different sections with black, circular tubing separating them into the sections, but also creating a feel that relayed sexiness and sophistication.
The collection on display, Black Phoenix, contained pieces with thick seasonal fabrics and a mixture of neutral colors that provided me with a feel that I was traveling around different destinations. I saw elements of Africa, Europe, and even America. Each piece translated very well and I felt that these were designs that I could personally wear.
I hope to see Michelle Helene at future NYFW attendances, and when I do, I will make sure to provide you with the her collections right here on the blog. But for now, take a look at the pieces from the Black Phoenix Collection that were displayed at her NYFW debut presentation.
