Since being in quarantine, many things have changed for all of us including my outlook on life. With all the things that have been going on, I have not only been focusing on my self-care but I’ve also been taking time to stop and think on how this quarantine has made me look at my every day a lot differently. With all of us being at home, this is a great time to stop and reflect and take note of the things that we’ve taken for granted and to think of how we are going to change our habits once this all ends. So in this post, I want to take time and connect with you all on a more personal level and share how my outlook on life has changed during quarantine.
CHANGING HOW I LOOK AT THINGS
As you all know, I’m an avid traveler, a busy body, and a person who generally likes to always be working on a project. So to have this moment where everything is stalled out and we are all staying in once place, it’s causing me to really look into what moments I have taken for granted. I have taken for granted the ability to just be able to get up and go visit with my mom, my sister, and my other family members. I took for granted the time that my husband I could have a date night and go to a local restaurant and enjoy food at one of our favorite restaurants.
HOW I WILL BE MOVING FORWARD
Moving forward, I’ll be making more plans to travel. I always thought that I had all the time in the world to see and do the things that I want to do. And, for a moment, I thought that I would have to slow down and take more time now that I have a baby, but I realized that as I see the world, I can share those moments with him.
I’ll cherish the moments I have with my family when we have little visits. Even if it’s just sitting and watching a re-run of something on TV while enjoying some takeout, I’ll make sure not give the excuse of why I am skipping the get together the next weekend because I can do the same thing at home. Now looking at it, I can’t do the same thing at home. Yes, the TV is there, and yes, the pizza is there, but they aren’t there.
I will stop putting things off until later. There have been so many things that I have wanted to learn and do including extend my education, but I’ve always given myself reasons on why I can just do it later. But now, I know that the best time to do something is now.
