Betsy Ross House
The Besty Ross House is a true historic gem of Philadelphia. In the historic district of Philly, you’ll find the Betsy Ross House where you can take a tour and learn about the life of Betsy Ross, the story behind the making of the American Flag, and other amazing historical facts about the people of that time.
On certain days, you’ll also find Betsy Ross herself around the house available to answer any questions that you may have about her life, storytellers that will tell you amazing stories about various people of the time including Betsy Ross, and the current burial side of Betsy Ross and one of her husbands ( yes, when I say her current burial site, I do mean that she wasn’t buried there before).
The restored house is quite unique and tells the story of a brave woman who crafted the American Flag during a war where she could have been arrested and put in jail, if not worse, for doing so.
Though you may feel as if you know the history of Betsy Ross and the American flag from your American History class, I promise you that this experience will show you otherwise. Each time I visit, I learn so much more about her story.
