Chestnut Hill on Ice
During the winter season, a great place to visit is Chestnut Hill for their annual Chestnut Hill on Ice. The seasonal event is outdoor and free to the public. During the event, you’ll be able to use a map to walk around the area, visit the shops, see ice sculptures made sponsored by the businesses of the area, and so much more.
The one year that we attended, Anna and Elsa showed up to take pictures with the little ones and bring a little magic to the day. During Chestnut Hill on Ice, you’ll also get to enjoy ice skating on an iceless skating rink, view ice carving demonstrations, and tour around the Yurt Village.
Each year, you may see variations in the attractions, but one thing that stays the same is the beauty that is Chestnut Hill. One thing that we enjoy about Chestnut Hill on Ice is the food and drinks. One of the cafes actually had a spiked hot cider which warmed me all over – something that I really enjoyed. Other than the hot drinks, you’ll also find warming stations and bonfires to keep you warm throughout the area. At one point during our outing, our little one had gotten cold, so parking him next to the warming station did well and gave him a second wind so we can enjoy more time at the event.
