Eat IN PHILLY

Volvér

300 S Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102

Right on the ground floor of the Kimmel Center of the Performing Arts, you’ll find Volvér – a decadent restaurant with a dining experience that is not only tasty but memorable. This intimate restaurant that only fits 30 requires reservations for seating and only offers two seatings at night.

Depending on the season and time that you visit the restaurant, you’ll be immersed in a menu highlighting specialties from a distinct location around the world. The restaurant often changes their chef in residence which means that it is worth visiting quite a few times as the menu will change and feature delicacies from a different place in the world accompanied by cocktails and wines that match the flavors found on the menu.

During our recent visit, we were taken to a location in Asia where the foods had flavors that I had not authentically experienced anywhere else in the world. Each dish was artfully presented but the flavors of the dishes themselves are what was most inviting and delicious. If you visit Volvér prior to show, you will be able to pick from their pre-theater menu which is a three course dinner that has great selections that will get out to you in enough time for you to get to your set before the show starts.

On the full menu, I recommend that you start with the pork spring rolls that comes with a garlic chili sauce that I wanted to bottle up and take home. For dinner, I recommend the pork chop and stewed mung beans. I will admit that I am not much of a pork chop person, but the way that this was prepared and served with the chimichurri just made me want to take more of it home.
