Summer cocktails are one of my favorite types of cocktails to make. That is because there are a lot of outdoor activities that we do over the summer and even if there isn’t an event, our family loves sitting outside and just hanging out on the patio while eating and sipping on some cocktails. One of my favorite cocktails to enjoy during the summer is my Vanilla Prickly Pear Margarita– especially because I’m a lover of margaritas and tequila and general. But tequila is not a spirit that all my friends and family enjoy. So when they need something else, a good go to is to make a Malibu rum punch cocktail.
When I think of making a rum cocktail, I always want to make something that is smooth and tropical, and though there are other great rums, my main go-to when making a rum cocktail is Malibu rum. It’s a smooth rum spirit that can blend with many flavors which has allowed me to make a variety of different rum cocktails.
But one of the main rum cocktails that my family has been enjoying each summer is my Pineapple Passion Rum Punch cocktail made with Malibu, and I’m hear to share that recipe with you.
Pineapple Pasion Rum Punch MADE WITH MALIBU
When it comes to rum, I truly love Malibu rum. So when I decided to make a summertime cocktail, it was an easy pick to make a rum punch with Malibu that would make everyone drinking it feel like they are on the islands even when they are sitting in their backyard. This rum punch is a refreshing cocktail that has a smooth blend of tropical flavors such as passion fruit and pineapple. To bring out more of the island flavors, I also add coconut water. But if coconut water is not something that you’re truly into the recipe tastes just as amazing without it. Another additive that I had done with this cocktail recipe is that instead of using ice cubes to keep the drink chilled, I used frozen pineapples instead. And if your looking to kick up cocktail to the next level, you can also get fresh pineapple pieces and add them to an ice cube tray of a coconut water and rum mixture and make those as ice cubes. There is just so much that you can do with this cocktail recipe that it lets you serve it different ways each time.
Combine rum and juice in a mixing glass, add ice, and stir.
Strain mixture over fresh ice.
Top with whipped cream and serve.
As a Smoothie:
In a blender filled 1/3 with ice, add rum and juices.
Blend together.
Pour in a glass and top with whipped cream.
Serve!
Notes
Instead of Ice Cubes:
Use frozen pineapple pieces
Get fresh pineapple and cut into pieces. Add the pieces to an ice cube tray and pour a coconut water and rum mixture in the tray covering the pieces and freeze.
