Non Caffeinated Pregnancy Safe Drinks at Starbucks

Non Caffeinated Pregnancy Safe Drinks At Starbucks

With this being my second pregnancy, there are quite a lot of things that I have learned and quite a lot of things that I am doing differently this time around. One being that I am not completely avoiding my favorite breakfast drink spots such as Starbucks, but instead, I am looking deeper into the menu to determine what are the non caffeinated pregnancy safe drinks at Starbucks.

Now I am someone who is more of a tea drinker than a coffee drinker, but caffeine is something that I typically have, so moderating my caffeine intake while pregnancy does become a challenge. Last pregnancy, I decided to cut it out all together, while this time I am just limiting the amount of caffeinated drinks that I have in the week.

On the days that I do avoid a caffeinate drink, I tend to still walk into Starbucks and find other options on the menu that are super tasty and give me that morning drink that I want without the caffeine.

While pregnant, I was informed that you can still have caffeine (no more than 200/mg per day) but even with that, I am still avoiding having caffeine each day. It just makes me feel comfortable and more at ease with my caffeine intake. There are a number of issues that can occur from drinking too much caffeine while pregnant that does still concern me, so I just make the decision to moderate more than necessary. But at the end of the day, it all comes down to your comfort. With that being said, in this post, I am sharing some of the non caffeinate pregnancy safe drinks at Starbucks that I have enjoyed and have been recommended to me.

PEACH TRANQUILITY Herbal Tea LATTE

Herbal teas can be less caffeinated and super relaxing. And though it is said that some herbal teas should be avoided during pregnancy due to certain ingredients, I had checked with my OB on this one and she deemed it to be okay. To be on the safe side, I did avoid this drink during my first trimester as I had read that herbal teas are at most concern during that first trimester. The taste of this was super relaxing and I loved having that warm drink in the morning during the colder months. Eventually, I did stop ordering this because Winter turned into Spring and then next thing I knew we were entering Summer and I was already having hot flashes, but I still enjoyed the peach flavor of this drink and the additional latte aspect.

Decaf ICED COFFEE

For those looking to keep the coffee flavor, a decaf coffee is always a great to go. Like I had mentioned, I am not one to drink a lot of coffee but during my pregnancy, I did have this craving for coffee and enjoyed the smell. So every so often I would order a grande decaf coffee to get my fix with the smell and the taste. To add a little variety do the drink, I did often add different types of syrup flavors instead of putting five packets of sugar and cream into the drink.

ICED PASSION TANGO Tea Lemonade WITH RASPBERRY SYRUP

This has been my summer go-to drink while I have been pregnant. While I am still out at my son’s tee ball games and heading to my other family members sports events and outdoor activities, I need a drink to keep me cool and collected. Weekend visits to Starbucks have been ordering this non caffeinated pregnancy safe drink at Starbucks over and over again and the extra addition of raspberry syrup is just like adding a cherry on top of a sundae.

LONDON FOG Tea Latte

Sip on the delicate blend of Earl Grey tea, steamed milk, and soothing vanilla syrup. Its gentle aroma and caffeine-free nature make it a comforting choice and it’s a drink that I have been ordering for many years even without being pregnant. Sometimes you just need a little warm pick-me-up in the morning and this latte is a great pregnancy safe drink at Starbucks.

VANILLA CREAM Steamer

If you have a sweet tooth like me, this may be one of your Starbuck’s drinks of choice. With this drink, you’ll embrace the creamy goodness of steamed milk infused with sweet vanilla syrup. This warm and indulgent beverage provides a delightful alternative to caffeinated options, perfect for soothing pregnancy cravings. Outside of pregnancy, I am not a big sugar person. I don’t do much candy and if I have a dessert, it’ll a soft serve of vanilla ice cream from Dairy Queen which is just what this drink tastes like to me.

Hot Chocolate WITH MARSHMALLOW SYRUP

You can never go wrong with a cup of hot cocoa. Starbuck’s hot chocolate is actually one that I like and I don’t like many hot chocolate drinks outside of the ones that I make at home. To get a little bit of balance to the chocolate flavor, add the marshmallow syrup for that extra indulgence and I promise you that you won’t regret the fact that you ordered this drink at all, and may even keep it on y our radar as a drink to order during the holiday months whether pregnancy or not.

VANILLA BEAN Cream Frappuccino WITH FRAPPUCCINO CHIPS & HAZELNUT SYRUP

For work mornings when I want something that is smooth, sweet, but still has a little texture, I order a Frappuccino. Now many of the Frappuccinos at Starbucks do have caffeine, so do not always assume that any Frappuccino is caffeine free. The cream base frappes are the ones that typically do not have caffeine and this one has been my ultimate pick. I had in the chips and hazelnut syrup for a mixture of flavors and texture. And of course, do not forget the whipped topping.

DECAF VANILLA Rooibos Latte WITH ALMOND MILK

As a tea drinker, I tend to love the rooibos tea options from Starbucks. I have been drinking the rooibos tea since I was in college and actually threw a fit when I could no longer order the Starbucks rooibos teas a few years after I graduated. Nonetheless, these teas have great flavor and I love ordering them because of the gentle sweetness and nutty undertones.

STRAWBERRY BANANA Smoothie WITH COCONUT MILK

When I feel like I’m not doing as much with intaking enough fruit or nutrients, I tend to convince myself that ordering this drink will help to change that. This nutritious and refreshing smoothie made with ripe strawberries, creamy banana, and coconut milk is packed with vitamins and minerals, which is why it’s an excellent choice for expectant mothers craving a healthy indulgence.

DECAF ICED Matcha GREEN TEA LATTE WITH SOY MILK

I am not much of a matcha drinker, but I did give this a try when I went on a Starbucks date with another one of my pregnant mommas. This cooling and creamy latte, crafted with decaffeinated matcha green tea and soy milk has a vibrant green hue and smooth texture offer a delightful refreshment on warmer days. It has the typical taste of matcha and is a pregnancy safe drink at Starbucks that many tend to enjoy.

STEAMED Apple Juice WITH CINNAMON DOLCE SYRUP AND CARAMEL DRIZZLE

Sometimes you just want some apple juice and on those cooler days during your pregnancy, this may be one of those drinks that just sweet enough for you without it being too overwhelming. It’s a sweet and soothing treat that’s caffeine-free and bursting with flavor. I ordered it quite a few times and had myself wishing that I had ordered it later in the evening for a late night, right before bed drink because of how smooth and tasty it is. But it’s still great for any time during the day and is an absolute great option for pregnancy safe drinks at Starbucks.

ICED PINEAPPLE Matcha DRINK WITH COCONUT MILK

On another one of my Starbucks dates with my pregnant friend, she had me try this other matcha option which I did like a little better than the green tea option one because of the pineapple flavor. Made with pineapple ginger syrup, coconut milk, and ice, it’s a delightful thirst-quencher for moms-to-be looking for a taste of summer.
