The Top 5 Products to Promote Healthy Skin

If you have been keeping up with me on my Instagram, and in many of my beauty posts on the blog, you know that I am obsessed with skincare. Let’s face it (pun intended), we all go out and buy a bunch of make-up which creates dirt on our skin. Even if we don’t wear make-up, our skin is constantly being attacked by dirt, sun rays, and other harmful aspects that can cause breakouts, lines, and discoloration. And though make-up can cover it up, for the most part, it can also make-up it worse. And sometimes not cover much of it up at all. So it’s important to keep your healthy skin looking fresh, so that maybe you can get to the point where make-up isn’t even needed.

I want to share with you all some of my top 5 favorite skincare items that I have been using to keep my skin looking fresh. And then you can also check out a range of my favorite skincare products in the collection at the bottom of this post.

1. Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask {Fresh}

Skin Type: Oily, Dry, Combination, Normal

A face mask is a must have for your skincare collection. Whether you like scrubs, sheet masks, clays, etc., you need a mask to dig deep into the skin and get rid of all of those built up impurities that may have not been pulled out during your daily wash.

I, personally, have almost one of each type of mask – each one treating a different concern, if and when it should pop up on my skin. But I do stick to some main masks, such as this one, to treat my skin and give it that weekly spa facial that it needs.

When it comes to keeping those laugh lines at bay and getting rid of those acne scars that are still left over from your teenage years, you need something that is going to preserve the youth but also treat those adult concerns.

The Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask by Fresh is just the mask that you need to treat your adult skin concerns while preserving that youthful skin.

What I like about this mask is that it is a scrub mask that buffs out those signs of stressed out and tired skin. You only need to leave the mask on for about 5-minutes which makes it perfect for the woman on-the-go.

For a person who has combination skin, I enjoy this product because it treats my dry areas as well as my oily areas. It scrubs off those dry areas and gets rid of the dead skin still laying on top, while not putting too much oil in my skin or drying it out so that my skin begins producing a lot of oil.

2. Sound Sleep Cocoon {Dermalogica}

Skin: Normal, Combination, Dry

In addition to a mask, you also need a night cream to add to your skincare arsenal. When we sleep, our body goes into overdrive to begin repairing and healing from the stress of the day. Our skin does too.

Our skin works to repair any damage that it can prior to you waking up. It’s working hard and the best thing that we can do to support that process is to use a serum or cream that will boost that process, so that we wake up with strong skin that can work to fight off the attacks during the day.

Not only does the Sound Sleep Cocoon by Dermalogica work to promote healthier skin, but it also works to support your nightly sleep overall. The lavender oil used within the gel-cream promotes deep, restful sleep so that your body, skin, and soul wake up well rested and ready for the day.

3. C-Firma™ Day Serum {Drunk Elephant}

Skin Type: Dry, Oily, Combination, Normal

Well, we talked about a night serum, but what about during the day. After you have washed your skin and maybe applied a toner, you also need a serum to make sure that you skin is being treated during the day.

To keep our bodies healthy, we take vitamins. And while those vitamins are working to improve our health from the inside, we can put a vitamin on our skin to also help to improve its quality from the outside.

Vitamin C is one of the main vitamins that we see when it comes to skin care. It is a necessary vitamin for collagen production, protection from sun damage, speed of healing, and reduction of under eye circles.

The C-Firma™ Day Serum from Drunk Elephant is one of the best vitamin-c serums out there. There are many that I have come to love, but this one is definitely at the top of the list. The combination of the vitamin-c and the natural fruit enzymes promote healthy skin throughout the entire day.

4. Zero Oil™ Pore Purifying Toner {Origins}

Skin Type: Oily, Normal

What is the step that we should go to right after cleansing? It’s applying a toner. There are a variety of different toners that you can find, and the best thing to do is find one that is right for you. Many people do say that toners are not the best for dry skin as some of the products in a toner can actually further dry out the skin, but if you find one that has less of those salicylic acids, you may find one that is good for you.

I have combination to oily skin, so this toner works wonders for me. It does not fully help my dry patches but with the combination with my moisturizers and serums, this toner does more good than harm.

The Zero Oil™ Pore Purifying Toner by Origins helps to reduce the possibility of breakouts and blemishes while working to keep oil at bay while not over-drying skin.

5. Probiotic Revitalizing Eye Cream {TULA}

Skin Type: Oily, Dry, Normal, Combination

Many people, including my sister, have said how eye creams are for people who are a little more “seasoned”. But I strongly disagree. We all get tired and can fall victim to those bags under our eyes. It’s jus the harsh truth.

Even with eight hours of sleep, those under eye circles can still appear. But eye creams and work to prevent those and even get rid of them.

The Probiotic Revitalizing Eye Cream by TULA works to hydrate the delicate skin around your eyes and works to get rid of those fine lines that tend to form around your eyes as our skin becomes more and more stressed out as we get on with our daily grind.

For eye creams, I typically put one on in the morning right before I put on my daily moisturizer. It helps to brighten my eyes and makes me look awake and ready for the day.
