Summer is quickly approaching, and many of us are getting our deck and patio furniture ready so that you can sit outside and enjoy the sun. For us, we just let go of our old deck furniture and we are currently looking into decorating our deck with a new set and a pergola. I’m envisioning us sitting outside on our deck around a table with a built-in firepit sipping on sangrias. So while I’m working on getting the furniture for that vision, I figured I would share one of the sangria recipes that I recently perfected that is going to fit well into that vision – a tropical honey mango sangria.
There’s nothing like a good sangria in the summertime, and I am loving this tropical honey mango sangria all season long. It’s a great drink to make for friends when entertaining, or just for a relaxing night at home with loved ones. It’s super easy, and the refreshing flavor is one that I just can’t get enough of! I have a feeling that this recipe is going to become a real staple for me. It’s the perfect summertime beverage for those light summer evenings, and as we begin to spend more nights outside on the deck, I am looking forward to getting all the good summer vibes with this delicious summer cocktail in hand.
Tropical Honey Mango Sangria
For the past month or so, I have made a variety of different drinks. My last whiskey drink was a riff off of a traditional Old Fashioned, and though it is super delicious, it didn’t have the sweet summer flavor that I was looking for. When I think of summer, I always think of juicy fruits and fresh tropical flavors. So as I was sitting around the house sipping on mango wine and also having an occasional glass of whiskey, I figured that I should try my hand at making sangria with a bottle of my favorite wine with a pop of whiskey. Instead of having those two flavors separate, I can just combine them together and make a drink that I can sip on all summer long.
After making this Tropical Honey Mango Sangria for the first time, I was basically inclied to make it a number of times since it kept running out – and not just because of me. It became an early Spring hit and I know that this summer cocktail will be one of the main libations that we will be indulging in all summer long. It’s simply the best mango sangria, and we can’t get enough of this dreamy nectar!
You can also add in your own little twists to it if you wish. I’ve added a variety of different fruits such as strawberries, kiwi slices, lemon, and pineapple to the Tropical Honey Mango Sangria since the tropical aspect gives you the ability to add in some other tropical flavors. It could be fun to add different flavor combinations, to make a peach mango or strawberry mango drink. You could also mix in some extra mango juice or even orange juice to add some extra fruity flavor, or add chunks of fruit – or serve them on the side!
I love that this drink recipe calls for just a few basic ingredients, and can be whipped up quickly. It’s the perfect summer beverage, and I’m excited to be making this mango sangria recipe all season long.
In a pitcher of ice, add in fresh-cut cubed mango.
Add 1 liter of Coconut Pineapple Seltzer Water to a pitcher.
Mix in 3 oz of JD Honey Whiskey
Add in a half of bottle of mango wine (feel free to add more as you wish)
Stir ingredients together and serve.
Notes
For an extra flavor of fresh mango, get a pitcher with a diffuser insert and add in ice and fresh mangos. This will allow for the mangos to stay in and add flavor and not be poured out with each glass.
