If you never knew, most of my favorite drinks are margaritas. When I first decided to try my hand at making cocktails at home, the first drink that I made was a Rose Pear Margarita. If that cocktail hadn’t gone as well as I wanted it to, I probably would have stopped there because I couldn’t make a margarita, my favorite type of cocktail, then they was absolutely no point. So now that I am trying my hand at more margarita recipes and as we are inching closer to the Fall season, I decided to share with you a yummy fall cocktail that pairs tequila with the sweet tastes of vanilla, honey, and pears – the Vanilla Pear Margarit
The Vanilla PRICKLY PEAR MARGARITA
This margarita came to me through wanting to create a fall cocktail that was something that would go great with different foods that are typically eaten in the Fall. We tend to go super savory in the colder months, and to balance out the savory flavors of food during a meal, I decided to go with something sweet. I jumped between doing something with an apple flavor, but I landed on pear because the pear just provides smoothness in a margarita. Last year, when I was putting together some cold weather cocktails, I leaned more on cocktails that were a little bit more milk based such as the S’mores White Russian and the Hot Vanilla Chai Tea Whiskey Latte. Both drinks were a big hit, but they weren’t drinks that were smooth enough to drink with a meal.
So this year, I decided that I’m going to mix up some drinks that pear well with a meal. When I made this cocktail at home, I paired the margarita with two savory meals – pot roast and chili. The Vanilla Pear Margarita was a perfect pairing to those two meals as the flavors balanced out the spices in both of the dinners.
