Everyone knows that the holidays are my favorite time of year. Between family and friend get togethers to the different styles that come out during the season and all the different holiday decorations that are absolutely everywhere. Even though it’s only the beginning of November, we all know that the holidays are pretty much here. So in that spirit, I am kicking of this year’s holiday style with a look featuring the top trend of the holiday and winter season – velvet.
SHOP THE POST:
Before we fully get into this first holiday look of the year, I want to let you know that you can find all of the holiday looks in one place as they go live. If you head to my ‘Holiday Looks’ tab under my Holiday section in my toolbar, you can find the looks as they go live as well as a holiday looks shop page. But don’t limit yourself to just that one section of the Holiday tab. There is so much there!
But let’s get back to talking about this look. Velvet is such a big thing during this season. Last year, I featured velvet in a vested look that I wore for tree shopping with my family and in a dress that I wore for a Christmas party.
For this look, I was happy to find this velvet top in nice wine color. It pairs well with jeans and over the knee boots for a casual holiday look that could be worn for a dress down day at work or just out for lunch, brunch, dinner or anywhere in between. The top is also super comfortable and warm, which is a big thing during the holidays. When you wear a shirt like this, you don’t want to keep it covered up under a coat for the entire day. So by having it keep you warm lets you wear your coat opened for the world to see your holiday style.
