Velvet Luxe

My nights out in my early 20s were filled with red solo cups, jeans, and a comfy shirt that looked a little dressy but wasn’t really. That was college. No need to really dress up to go out to the bar. After college, when the nights out in turned into going to lounges in the city, I realized that the time for jeans and a “nice” shirt was long over. It was time to add a little luxury to my style and embrace the trends of each season. This season has been about the velvet trend – it’s everywhere, and it add luxuriousness to every outfit.

This rust colored dress from Windsor Store has me feeling every sense of luxury when my fiance and I head out for a night out in the city. By pairing it with these OTK boots from Steve Madden, allows me to take on the chill of the night and also gives an illusion of a long leg.

I feel stunning in this dress and you can too! This dress is under $30 at Windsor. My recommendation is to purchase it a size up. Typically, I purchase my dresses in a size small, but in the small the dress was a little too short and not easy to get into – so a size up is what I needed.

Another tip with this dress tunic is to pair it with a pair of dark skinny jeans and boots when you aren’t looking for it to look like a night out outfit. There’s so much that you can do with this dress to change your look, but to keep this velvet trend making you look and feel luxurious.
