Summer is coming to an end, and though there is less and less time to head to the beach, I’m actually excited for the cooler weather. This summer has been a hot one. One thing that I have noticed as the summer comes to a close is that this is the best time for weddings. As a bride, myself, I love going to weddings and celebrating the union of another happy couple. And though I don’t like to compare one wedding to another, these late summer weddings are more preferable to me.
Less heat + a nice breeze = beautiful outdoor weddings
Outdoor weddings (and even indoor weddings) in the late summer call for a mixture of styles. Not sure what I mean? Let me break it down.
With late summer weddings, you’re dealing with a warmer day with a cooler evening. So you need an outfit that will not only make you look fabulous, but also make sure that you’re comfortable in every change. If you’re like me, you may get colder in the evening as the sun goes down.
But if you’re like my friend Alissa Weikel, from Lipgloss & Labels, you may be feeling the warmth all through the night (she doesn’t blame it on the alcohol).
Many may think that because we have different late summer wedding style needs, that means that we need to shop at two different stores. Wrong!
Alissa and I found our late-summer style needs at the one and only – South Moon Under.
South Moon Under carries a variety of styles and various brands. Honestly, I’ve shopped there quite a few times and my biggest dilemma is figuring out how I’m going to explain to my fiance why I came home with so many clothes. You can find their stores carrying brands such as Abbeline, House of Harlow, Free People, Citizens of Humanity, and so much more! I even found a cute little trinket to add to my bridal accessory collection.
Alissa and I had the privaledge of shopping the Wayne, PA location. The store manager, Brooke, and the rest of her team took such good care of us, and I know that I will be definitely returning to that particular store to shop.
For my late-summer wedding style, I found an Abbeline black maxi dress from South Moon Under and paired it with a few statement pieces to give my outfit a little pop. This open backed dress with high slits keeps me cool earlier in the day, but as the sun goes down, I still feel comfortable and warm. No need for a jacket to cover up this beauty.
Alissa found a very gorgeous Abbeline paisley dress and paired it with a neutral lace-up sandal and some statement jewelry. We both agreed that we wanted to stand out around the crowd, but of course, we wouldn’t want to stand out so much to upstage the bride.
Shopping at South Moon Under was a great experience, and I highly recommend shopping your local South Moon Under with one of your shopping buddies. You can compare outfits in the dressing room and find pieces that fit you and your style.
