Who made the rule that says you’re not supposed to wear white after Labor Day? I don’t understand it. Is it a superstition or is it something else? I mean, I know that you cannot find anything in white in-stores after Labor Day, but is that because of the rule or is it because of something that I haven’t fully figure out yet?
Either way, I’ve always been a rule breaker and, in my book, there isn’t any real reason as to why you shouldn’t wear white after Labor Day.
After summer is gone, I find so many perfect pieces in white that are great for the cold weather season. And when styled the right way, you can create an amazing fall or winter look. First, let’s take a brief pause really quick before I go any further. The top that I am featuring today is a crop top, and I am not the kind of girl who likes to show off her belly button, but for today’s post I am. Typically, with this top from BooHoo, I style it with a white tank or body suit underneath to show layers, but I wanted to focus solely on the top for this post and to show how I am in love with my body and every little mark that has been left from my adolescence. Yes, I’m talking about the belly button ring that I used to have. And now I’m left with the reminder that once upon a time, I used to wear one. Ahh…memories.
But I digress…
Wearing white after Labor Day doesn’t have to be something you are afraid of or feel like you are breaking the rules. You can style your white in so many ways and there are plenty of pieces hat you can find that are long-sleeved and fit for the season.
My favorite thing to do is to find pieces that have an element to them. I’m not talking about picking out white graphic tees, but looking for those pieces that have white lace or have an element of shimmer to them. Many of the white pieces you’ll find will be fit for layering, which is a great thing to do in the cold weather season.
Wear your white with pride and be a rule breaker.
