Why the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is Worth Shopping

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Every year I get the question, “Is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale really worth all of the hype?” I mean, if you’re on social media and you follow other bloggers, you’ll see a lot of them posting to stories and sharing how they are preparing for the sale and gathering all of this content for you. I did the same thing. For the past few years,  I have shared content on how to shop the sale, what I picked from the sale and the key information that you need to know for shopping it on your own. Even this year, I put together shop pages to make it easier for you to shop the sale. But again, you’re probably still wondering whether it really is worth all of the hype.

The answer is ABSOLUTELY!

Each year, I head to the store and shop the sale, and each year I find clothes, shoes, and accessories that I still have in my closet and tend to keep for a very long time. If you check out some of Nordstrom Anniversary Sale try-ons, you can see that they are pieces that I could wear to work and outside of work, and I can attest that I have worn these multiple times and have refused to remove them from my closet for my annual closet cleanse.

Instead of going way deep into the details of the Nordstrom Sale, I am going to lead you to this page which includes all of the information about the sale that I have previously posted about. The only thing that has really changed is that in a previous post I talked about the Nordstrom debit card that no longer exists. Well, people who have it can still use it, but you can’t sign up for it anymore. Nordstrom only offers credit cards at this time.

When Is the Best Time to Shop?

If you’re a cardmember, the best time to shop is in-store as soon as the store opens. There will be some items that are no longer on the racks because of the icons and ambassadors having shopped the sale before. But the greatest thing about shopping in stores is that there are items that are no longer online that still exist in store, AND if you find something that is not in your size, you can ask them to check the back. Some stores do keep a small inventory in the back. You just have to ask.

When the sale opens to the public, I still recommend heading to the store. Some stores, I have discovered, actually, hold onto stock for when the sale opens to the public. AND at some point during the sale, there sometimes is a restock – not guaranteed.

Not a store person? That’s completely fine. Just make sure that you are connected to the sale right from the beginning. Pieces online typically sell out faster than what is in store. And if you find something online that you like that is sold out, call your local store to see if they have it in stock. They may not be able to hold it like they would be able to when the sale isn’t open, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.

What Should You Focus On Shopping For?

My advice for shopping for the sale is to shop for Fall items and boots. This is the time to start stocking up on next season, especially since this season is already ending. Let’s face it, you already have bought a lot of summer clothes, so you really don’t need much more. So with this sale happening now, it’s the best time to shop for next season so that when next season arrives, you aren’t spending tons of money getting ready for the Fall.

Boots are always found at great discounts. I tend to get my boot and booties during the Nordstrom sale that I end up wearing during the colder months. Yes, they sit in my closet for a few months waiting for the weather to get cold, but when it’s finally time, there is no need for me to hit the mall because they are already in my closet.

To give you some insight into what will be on sale during the event, you can head to my shop pages below that I have put into different categories for easy shopping. And you can also head to my LiketoKnow. It page for shopable styled looks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
