White Dog Café

3420 Sansom St, Philadelphia, PA 19104

There are not many farm to table restaurants where you’ll find unique aesthetic, history and a home-like feel, but at White Dog Café, you’ll find just that. With a variety of locations within Philadelphia and the surrounding areas, you’ll dine at this restaurant and immediately start thinking about the next time that you’ll return. One of my favorite locations to visit is the one in University City because of it’s unique setup. When you’re walking into the restaurant, you’ll feel as if you are walking into someone’s restored house. After checking in at the front area where you’ll find the bar, you’ll be navigated to your seat which can be in one of the various rooms, each with their own aesthetic, on one of the two floors. During our first time dining there, I actually became lost because of how vast the restaurant is, but it’s so beautiful that you find yourself about to ask the hostess to seat you at one place and then the next.

On the menu, you’ll find farm to table options with some of the menu options being seasonal options that are only available for a short time which gives you a big reason to come back. Open for both lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, make sure to make a reservation ahead of time because the White Dog Café is a very popular restaurant that has each of the locations packed especially around dinner time. I highly recommend ordering the specials since they don’t often last for long and are crafted by local chefs and mixologists in the area.

As you’re ready to make your reservations, you can choose from one of the five locations – University City, Wayne, Haverford, Glen Mills, and Chester Springs. Each one capturing the home-link feel and décor but each capturing the aesthetic of their areas.
