a.kitchen & a.bar Philly
Quaint, quiet, and delectable – oh, and down to earth. That’s how I would describe a.kitchen. Whether you are staying at AKA Rittenhouse Square or whether you’re just looking for a place to eat and/or grab some cocktails, a.kitchen is a great place to dine and imbibe and enjoy the companies of others.
Depending on the season, you’ll find a variety of delicious items on the menu as each menu is seasonally inspired. We visited during the late winter and I will say that the oysters and the branzino were plates that I not only ordered once but went back for a second time and ordered again. Additionally, the chefs and bartenders are super accomodating, if there is one small ingredient that you’re not quite feeling, they’ll allow for changes or even suggest one. And if you’re stuck between cocktails to order, but you know what flavor you want, just mention it to your server and he or she will point you in the right direction.
In addition to a.kitchen, you can enjoy cocktails from a.bar at the restaurant or go into its own location and enjoy cocktails there. Some of the cocktails have ingredients you wouldn’t think you would like in a drink such as the carrot juice in Tune Squad, but the drinks are surprising, so don’t judge a cocktail by its ingredients.
Lastly, if you’re staying in AKA Rittenhouse, you can access both a.kitchen and a.bar fright from the lobby, but if you’re not wanting to come out of your room, enjoy the dinner and a movie offering to have dinner right in your residence.
