Anyone ever put on an outfit and say think that it reminds you of one of your favorite movies? I do it all the time. Movies have always been prevalent in my life. My dad is a huge movie buff, so much that our basement was turned into a type of movie theatre that had collections of movie posters and DVDs lining the walls. To this day, everything that we talk about has a movie reference. So, for me, when it comes to fashion, I like finding inspiration for my looks within movies. This street style look was inspired by none other than one of my favorite musical movies – Grease.
SHOP THE POST:
Here’s a little behind the scenes tidbit…when I was shooting this look with my husband (who is also my photographer) I belted out “you’re the one that I want” the entire time. He eventually just tuned me out and when we were done, he jumped back into the car so that I could get ready for the next look.
I am not always one that enjoys wearing monochromatic looks. I feel that I need a little more than one color in a look. Also, I’m not one that likes to wear a lot of black. I’m a girl that loves color and print. But this look, had me rethinking my entire position on wearing black and wearing monochromatic looks.
This ‘All Black Everything’ street style look is something that would be a perfect happy hour look for a few hours out of the house. The jacket itself is thick enough to keep you warm during those colder Spring days, but also not super thick to the point that if the sun comes out, you’ll feel like you’re about to sweat right out of it.
My favorite part of the outfit is the off the shoulder white top. I like that it’s cropped but not super cropped and the cotton fabric is stretchy and breathable. The white top is going to be perfect for pairing with some jean shorts this summer too since it can also become a fabulous summer top.
