RULES FOR Fall Winery Outfits
AVOID WEARING WHITE
Labor Day has come and gone, so it’s time to leave white behind for the season. White may be perfect for the spring and summer months, but now that autumn has come, it’s time to pull out the deep colors and warm tones. Opt for browns, burgundys, and deep greens over whites every time when putting together a fall wine tasting outfit.
Plus, let’s be honest – as dainty and romantic as white can feel when worn to a winery, all it takes is one moment of losing your balance, someone knocking into you, or even just a mistaken movement to send your drink flying, and the last thing you want to do is ruin a beautiful piece of clothing with wine.
LEAVE THE POINTY HEELS AT HOME
I know – it’s hard to beat a cute pair of heels. But let’s think this through. No matter how cute they may be, heels are not always the easiest to walk in, and when you add wine into the mix, they can suddenly get a whole lot tricker. Additionally, wineries often don’t have the most even terrain, whether you’re walking through glass or across brick or cobblestone. It’s far too easy to mess up your shoes or trip and twist your ankle when wearing heels at a winery. As cute as they may be, this is a day where they may need to take a backseat.
Instead of heels, opt for a stylish pair of flats or a fun pair of boots. There are so many options when it comes to adorable autumn footwear that you’ll find you don’t even miss your heels.
LAYERS ARE FAVORABLE
When you think of autumn style, you naturally think of layers – from sweaters to vests, cute jackets to scarves, there are so many fun ways to wear layers throughout the fall season. When you’re spending the day at a winery, layers are the perfect way to make sure that you’re comfortable all day long, no matter how the weather may shift. Plus, nothing gets you in the mood for fall more than the perfect cute layered outfit, so layer up, ladies! It’s time for fall.

JACKETS
It may not be winter yet, but the brisk air of autumn calls for a good jacket. Layers are your friend in the fall, and I always make sure to have a cute jacket with me when I head to a winery.
TOPS
Whether you’re going for thinner tops to layer or a chunky sweater, there are so many options to choose from as you think through wine tasting outfit ideas. Remember: deep or neutral colors are your friend for the fall.
DRESSES
There’s nothing like a dress that makes you feel like you can take on the world! Visiting a winery is an elevated experience, and I often like to wear a dress for the occasion. Check out some of my favorite autumn choices just in time for the fall season.
BOTTOMS
There are so many different options when deciding on a great pair of pants or a skirt to wear to your winery visit. Whether you want a stylish skirt or plan to stick to your skinny jeans, don’t forget to think through the bottoms as you plan your fall winery outfits!
SHOES
Remember, heels are not your friend when visiting a winery! Instead, opt for a great pair of flats or a cute pair of boots – which is always my personal favorite choice when the fall season rolls around.
